Carolyn L. Rosenblatt, R.N., B.S.N., Attorney

Carolyn Rosenblatt graduated from O’Connor Hospital School of Nursing in 1969, and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of San Francisco in 1971.  She worked in nursing homes, hospitals, and as a visiting nurse, seeing hundreds of elderly persons, and those with chronic illness and disability.  Most of her nursing career was spent with aging patients.  She worked her way through law school at the University of San Francisco while employed as a nurse, and graduated with her Juris Doctor degree in 1978.  She practiced law in San Francisco initially, and in 1983, she opened her own practice in San Rafael, California, representing injured individuals in litigation and trial work.  She successfully practiced in the field of personal injury, and elder neglect for 25 years before becoming a mediator and consultant to elders and their families.  She is the author of The Boomer’s Guide to Aging Parents, a 9 volume series with legal, healthcare and practical approaches to problems with aging loved ones, published in 2009.

Ms. Rosenblatt, together with her husband, Dr. Mikol Davis, a psychologist, are the founders and principals of AgingParents.com.  Their work as mediators focuses on caregivers, aging loved ones, family conflicts and a range of problems in this arena.  They consult with individuals, elders and caregiver agencies and institutions,  as well as working with them to assist in dispute resolution.  They are skilled in conducting family meetings.  Ms. Rosenblatt can be reached at AgingParents.com, (415) 459-0413, or nurselawyer@agingparents.com.
